When Love is Blind

Can one be blind, and yet fall in love at first sight? How do blind people find love? Is it very different from how sighted people find love? When Love is Blind is an open window to the world of blind culture that candidly illustrates the personal and emotional challenges for blind people seeking relationships.

This film looks at attraction and love, capturing the intricate journey of three people’s quest and desire for companionship and love, the challenges of being single, dating and falling in love in their ‘not so’ visual world. When Love is Blind bravely brings to the surface the real and perceived hurdles of romance for Shawn, a fun and vivacious athlete; Jacquie, a fiercely independent romantic who is having trouble finding Mr. Right; and Bryan, a professional with a great sense of humour who was attracted to his partner by her voice.
